Last Saturday I attended the Arena Football game at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and watched the Jacksonville Sharks play. It was a great game and I had fun. During the game, however, I kept pondering the power that will be unleashed in that coliseum on June 11 at 6PM. The excitement of a football game pales in comparison. On June 11 at 6PM, tens of thousands of Christians will pack the coliseum and join millions of Christians around the world in prayer!!! It’s called the ‘Global Day of Prayer’ (GDOP) and Jacksonville will be the host city. The GDOP will be broadcasted from Jacksonville. We are the base of operations for this monumental, world changing event. What could be more powerful than uniting millions of Christians in prayer around the world? I fully expect this to change Jacksonville and the churches that participate. We would like to have a good size group from Glynlea Grace UMC attend this event on June 11. Plan on attending. You don’t want to miss this!! Immediately contact Linda Frano. Contact her right now, at this very moment and let her know you want to attend!!! Don’t wait!! You can either e-mail her ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), send her a message through the church office 904-724-6272. Please read the article below. It gives more detail about the event. SATURDAY, JUNE 11, JAX HOST CITY - GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER - 220 NATIONS UNITED How do we convey the magnitude and great significance of this GLOBAL EVENT coming to Jacksonville? We are invited to be part of the largest prayer gathering in the world! This is the first time it is being broadcast from the U.S. and Jacksonville has been chosen to be the host city. The churches of the first coast will lead the Christians of the world in a united expression of repentance, prayer and worship. This is huge! Jacksonville will not be the same. These words were on the GDOP website. "We need the commitment and help of every pastor and Christian believer. Decide now your church will be a part of history." We are hoping at least 20 from GGUMC will attend. There are three parts to this event referred to as 10 - 1 - 90:
