August Trustees Report PDF Print E-mail
Written by Todd Kessler

The Trustee Committee has had to be very active this year in dealing with a number of critical areas of concern for our church. I will summarize some of these areas.

  • Since our old sewer system could not pass the Department of Health inspection, we were forced into a completely new system as the old was not redeemable. This installation is complete and you may have noticed new sod over the existing drain field. We lost a number of parking spaces due to the required size of the new drain field. We hope to have the entire area of construction covered with sod grass in the near future. Total cost of this project was $14,625.00. There will be additional cost in getting the asphalt drive repaired and additional sod.
  • Our West wing and herb garden wall was damaged by a motorist on April 23, 2011 and our own Bill Watson, a general contractor, won the low-bid contract to repair the damages. A shrub replacement is all that is needed to complete the project. Total cost of repair damages covered by motorist insurance company.
  • The Iglesia Pentecoastal Jehova Nissi, Inc. (Spanish church) has renewed their lease to continue using our facilities through December 31, 2011. The Trustees are currently working up a lease agreement with the United Ambassador‟s in Christ Ministries who also use our facilities for church services and other events.
  • The Crossroads School is expected to return to our church and their first open house was held July 26, 2011. They will be using rooms #19 and #21 for their classrooms and one other room at the top of the stairs for the principal‟s office. The lease agreement is in the works at this time. The school classrooms are still available for our church activities.
  • The kitchen renovation has been slow but more progress has been made in recent weeks. We are all very anxious to have this project completed and putting together a team of volunteers with know-how and proper skills and tools is what it is taking to have this project move forward. Many thanks to all that are donating their skills and talents to move this project closer to completion.
  • A new air conditioner has been installed in the Fellowship Hall and now that area is comfortable for all activities. This was made possible by a designated memorial gift from our dear departed sister in Christ, Sheila Denton.
  • Due to our expanding children‟s ministry (isn‟t Laura doing a fantastic job with our children?), she has outgrown the space she has been using. The children‟s ministry will be moving to the old choir room at the top of the stairs with the double doors. The Thrift Shop, that has been using that space, is consolidating and clearing out that space for children‟s ministry.

Respectively submitted,
Todd Kessler
