Butter Is Spreadable......Again
The Croto Homestead was built in the 50's, and was not easy to heat during the past 2 weeks of "brisk" temperatures. We leave e our butter out on the kitchen counter, so it will spread easily. The past 2 weeks, the butter acted like it was kept in a freezer, crumbling toast and English muffins, tearing holes in bread and refusing to melt over veggies. The only time it acted normal was in the bottom of a hot pan.
Being a new Christian is a lot like butter for me. If I'm not listening to God's directions, working in the Thrift Shop is like cold butter, nothing goes smoothly, items drop and break, displays won't look the way I picture them in my mind.
However, if I say a little prayer as I unlock the doors to the different rooms, which usually goes like this...." Father, bless these items, show me how to use these wares to the best advantage for GGUMC", my day goes like warm butter, smooth, spread to the edges, a comfy feeling like buttered toast when I greet and meet customers. Little miracles happen, someone benefits from the Thrift Shop. The benefit could be as simple as a warm sweater or a kind word, or the benefit could be mine, a simple gift for helping others.
Come and see. Thanks for your support, Alayne, Mark, Pamela & Phyllis
